Gypsy Chief Goliath – Citizens of Nowhere CD Review

GYPSY CHIEF GOLIATH is described as a stoner metal band. Had to think about this, as I never really heard that term used before or maybe I was too stoned at the time the genre was created to realize it. All we wanted to hear back then were some heavy tunes. Yes we used the word “tunes” when we were walking around our neighborhood streets carrying a 10 pound stereo on our shoulders blaring our heavy metal or hard rock tunes back in the 80’s.

Had to do some research on the term Stoner Metal / Stoner Rock. Apparently it’s a musical subgenre which combines elements of heavy metal, psychedelic rock, blues rock, acid rock & doom metal which was created in 90’s.

I really enjoyed this CD release by GYPSY CHIEF GOLIATH – “Citizens of Nowhere”. My stoner days are over but you don’t have to be stoned to enjoy the music.

My daughter, Kat, said that Al The Yeti Bones reminds her of the singer of the band Avatar.

If you enjoyed their previous stuff or you are into Stoner Metal, definitely pick up their latest CD – “Citizens of Nowhere”
